German Market Launcher for a Startup (Entry-level)

  • Indefinite
  • Full time
  • Hybrid (Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain)
  • Germany

Hey there! 👋

We’re Venuu – an international online marketplace helping over 400,000 people discover the perfect event venues every month. Born in Finland, we’re now operating in five countries, and have just gotten started! 🌍

We’re in a growth phase looking to expand rapidly across Europe. We started testing the German market in February this year starting from Berlin and Hamburg. The pilot has brought amazing results and we’re now forming our first Germany team taking ownership over scaling Venuu across major German cities and establishing a strong foothold in the country. The German team will be based in our Barcelona office that hosts our international operations.

To keep the team balanced, we're hoping to hire employees with different seniority-levels; both high-potential juniors and moree experienced professionals. This specific opening is for an Entry-Level talent ready to kickstart their career.

To guide you forward, we have a proven market launch blueprint that has been validated and optimised in other European markets, namely Sweden, Denmark and Spain. You’ll execute this playbook in close collaboration with experienced colleagues and the company’s CEO.

For entry-level positions we’re not looking for any specific background; just energy, proactivity, and an eagerness to learn. Mindset is more important than a proven track record.

Pssst! Before continuing, please note that fluent German is required in this role (for your daily work with partners) along with good English (our internal language for training and meetings). 🇩🇪🇬🇧

What You’ll Be Doing

Because this is an early-stage market launch, your role will be highly versatile. The most crucial part of the job, however, is to bring news venues onboard from all around Germany.

  • City-by-City Launching: You will drive our expansion into new regions. You’ll do research to map out the best local venues, and run outreach campaigns to get the platform off the ground – one city at a time. 🗺️

  • Deploying Launch Deals: To kickstart new cities quickly, you’ll invite the very first local partners to join under highly attractive launch conditions. Because these introductory offers carry very low entry friction, you can bring partners onboard fast with less heavy contract negotiation. 🎯

  • Onboarding & Listing Creation: Once a venue says yes, you'll set up their account, build their profile copy, and make sure their listing looks great. Once a city has a solid number of active venues, your job there is done and you move right along to help launch the next city. 🏡

  • Web Content & Demand Generation: Create dedicated website content to ensure event organizers across Germany find Venuu online, thus directing traffic and bookings to our newly onboarded partners. 💻

Who We’re Looking For

  • The "Doer" Mindset: This role is for energetic executioners, not theoretical overthinkers. You love moving fast and taking immediate action.

  • Fearless Communicator: You have no fear of picking up the phone, pitching ideas, and navigating objections. Because of this part of the job, eperience in any client-facing or customer-centric role (retail, hospitality, call centers, sales) is highly beneficial because you’ve already beaten the fear of rejection and confrontation. 📞

  • Language Skills: Fluent German (written and verbal) to command respect from German business owners, and strong English to collaborate effortlessly with your international teammates.

  • Highly Organized: You will manage a high-volume pipeline with dozens of simultaneous conversations. Keeping your calendar, notes, follow-ups, and pipeline disciplined is critical. ⚙️

  • Ambitious & Coachable: You love learning, ask plenty of questions, and actively seek feedback to stretch your comfort zone. You have a healthy level of confidence. 🚀

  • Team First: You work hard, take ownership of your actions, and know how to have a laugh while building something big together.

What’s on the Table

  • Start Date: Flexibly in August/September, after the summer holiday period.

  • Contract: Permanent, full-time (40h/week) with a 3-month probation period.

  • Compensation: For entry-level employees, first year’s salary is 20,000€–24,000€ gross/year depending on your experience. We notice and reward personal growth, so as your skills develop and the value you bring to the company grows, your compensation will also grow as a result of your annual reviews. For year two, you’ll already enter our mid-level brackets. 💰

  • Location: Our vibrant Barcelona office. We are office-first because we believe face-to-face chemistry is vital when launching something from scratch. Hybrid options are partially available after being fully onboarded. 🏢

  • Team & Culture: Join an international crew of 30 friendly professionals from the Nordics, Spain, and Latin America. We keep a great office vibe balanced perfectly between hard work and a relaxed, social atmosphere.

  • Perks: Regular team-building events, casual afterworks, a personal learning budget, and plenty of snacks and drinks in the fridge. 🎢🥤
