Hey there! 👋
We’re Venuu, the online marketplace helping over 400,000 people every month to find the perfect venues for their parties, meetings and events. We make the venue hunt effortless and enjoyable, allowing people to celebrate life’s special moments.
Originally from Finland, we're now live in five countries. We opened our Barcelona office a couple of years ago to host our international operations, and our growth here has been fast. As a startup, we’re ambitious, fast-paced, and driven – we’re building something amazing with a passionate, international team. 🌍
We’re looking for a Marketplace Operations Intern to help us make even more event dreams come true – especially during the autumn high season for corporate events and Christmas parties. Your main mission? Help our customers find and book venues that fit their needs. You’ll be speaking directly with both event organizers and venue providers, acting as a key link between them. It’s your job to ensure that communication is smooth and the booking process frictionless, the end result being plenty of memorable moments for people all around Spain.
This is a paid, hands-on internship for someone enrolled at a university (ideally in Barcelona) and looking to gain real-world experience in operations, customer service, and marketplace dynamics. You’ll be part of a small, international, and ambitious team that loves building things – and celebrating wins together. This is a great opportunity, especially for someone who is interested in startups and entrepreneurship.
Note: This internship requires fluent Spanish and good English. You also must be a student enrolled at a university in Spain.
🚀 What You'll Be Doing
Your primary focus:
- Speak with customers planning events (mostly B2B clients) and understand their event and venue needs through calls, emails and follow-ups.
- Reach out to venue providers to check availability and suitability for the event.
- Coordinate both sides: send booking requests, help with follow-ups, and ensure smooth communication between client and venue.
- Actively oversee and support the entire booking process to make sure it results in a successful match.
Your secondary responsibilities:
- Assist our Partnership Specialist in keeping venue partners active, responsive, and well-informed.
- Monitor how well our partners are performing and help keep their profiles up-to-date and optimized.
- Support overall marketplace quality: ensure customer inquiries are answered quickly and partner activity remains high.
💡 What You’ll Learn
This is not a "coffee run" internship. You’ll:
- Be an active contributor to our operations and success in Spain.
- Get to know how a fast-paced international startup works from the inside.
- Learn about marketplace operations, commercial processes, and B2B service in a hands-on way.
- Receive mentorship from experienced colleagues – your growth and learning are our priority.
🙌 You’re a Great Fit If You...
- Are fluent in Spanish and comfortable in English (our internal language). Catalan is a bonus.
- Are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student, eligible for an internship through your university.
- Are proactive, structured, and eager to learn – you’re not afraid to pick up the phone and solve real problems.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with people from all walks of life.
- Have a strong work ethic, a sense of ownership, and enjoy being part of a tight-knit team.
- Are excited about the energy of a startup, the learning curve, and the impact your work can have.
